Educational and Spiritual Opportunities

Women's Spirituality
Women's Spirituality is a group of women who meet monthly on the First Friday to enjoy intelligent conversations pertinent to current issues in the contemporary church. Camaraderie, special guests, lively discussions, and even luscious desserts are "perks" making this a most worthwhile way to spend a lunch hour. Come occasionally or come each month!

The next discussion will be on February 3, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the North Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the Weakland Center, 831 N. Van Buren St.

This month's topic:
"Study compares Catholicism to Christianity across the globe"
Article by John L Allen Jr
National Catholic Reporter, December 23, 2011

Please RSVP by 12:00 Noon, Thursday, February 2, 2012 to Rachel at 414-276-9814 ext 3102, rachelegarczynski@stjohncathedral.org.

Sandwiches will be ordered from Cousins Subs (price is $7.00 each), please call or email for more information.

Brunch and a Book
The next "Brunch and a Book" is scheduled for Saturday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral Atrium. Another local restaurant will be providing a delicious free brunch for all to enjoy. The next book for discussion is The Pope & the C.E.O. by Andreas Widmer, with foreword by George Weigel. For more information or to make your reservation for this session, contact Pat Wisialowski at 414/276-9814 or patwisialowski@stjohncathedral.org.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Are You or Is Someone You Know Interested in Becoming Catholic?

Each year at the Cathedral adults are welcomed into the Catholic Church through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). You are welcome to join us as we set out on the journey to know God through knowing each other and growing in faith. If you just want to learn more about the RCIA process, or are ready to become Catholic, please contact Pat Wisialowski, Cathedral Pastoral Associate, by email, or by calling 414/276-9814.

Where Every Student Shines!
Catholic East Elementary is a vibrant, diverse, Christ-centered school that has educated children in K4 through Grade 8 for more than 25 years.

Catholic East, located at the corner of Murray and Greenwich several blocks west of Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, challenges students to tap into their full potential academically, spiritually, morally, socially and physically. Our peaceful atmosphere of loving, sharing and caring is built on the time-tested tradition of excellence in Catholic education that our five parishes share.

Catholic East Elementary offers all-day or half-day K4 options, small class sizes, individual attention, highly-qualified staff, after-school care, and a foundation in faith in a friendly neighborhood.

Catholic East is built on solid foundation of the parish schools that preceded it in the past 100 years: SS. Peter and Paul, Holy Rosary, Old Saint Mary, St. Rita, St. Mary of Czestochowa, St. Casimir and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
