Art Exhibit

Opens - Gallery Night, October 15, 2010

Located in the Treasury of the
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist

Folk Art, Fine Art! We are happy to have an exhibit of folk art paintings from October – December. This exhibit will feature paintings from Della Wells, Karlyn Cauley, SDS, and Helena Steffensmeier, SSSF. We will open our exhibit on Gallery Night October 15th from 5:30-8:30 pm. The treasury will also be open between12:00 noon and 4:30 PM on the following Saturdays: October 30, November 6, November 13 and November 20.
 

Daniel Beliavsky, piano
November 7, 2010 - 2:00 PM

A Concert featuring music for the piano!

Daniel Beliavsky will return to the Cathedral for a concert of piano music on November 7th at 2 pm. A graduate of Columbia and New York University as well as a regular performer on our Wednesday Noon Concert Series, Daniel is a regular performer in the New York area.

Advent Lessons and Carols
Sunday, December 12, 2010 – 5:15 PM
Music for the Advent of our God performed by the Cathedral Choir, Women’s Choir, Men’s Choir, Choristers of St. Francis Xavier, Handbell Ensemble and other musicians.

This program, which features all of our resident choirs and ensembles, has become a tradition at the Cathedral. Readings from the Old Testament prophets and festive choral music and hymns of the season are performed. No tickets are necessary.

John Scott, organ
Friday, March 18, 2011 - 8:00 PM
Co-sponsored with the Milwaukee Chapter of the
American Guild of Organists

John Scott is an English-born organist and choirmaster. He directed the Choir of St. Paul's Cathedral in London from 1990 to 2004 and now directs the Choir of Men and Boys of Saint Thomas Church on 53rd Street and Fifth Avenue in New York City. This concert will be co-sponsored with the AGO.

Grand Music for a Grand Space
April 8, 2011 - 8:00 PM

Closing out the season on Friday, April 8, is our 6th annual Grand Music for a Grand Space. This year’s concert will feature the Cathedral Chorale performing a variety of anthems and motets of the Lenten season and culminate with John Rutter’s Requiem.
