Women’s Spirituality

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist invites you to please join us for our monthly Women’s Spirituality Lunch/Discussion gathering led by Pat Wisialowski, Cathedral Pastoral Associate. Women’s Spirituality is a group of women who meet monthly on the First Friday to enjoy intelligent conversations pertinent to current issues in the contemporary church and our world.  Camaraderie, frequent special guests, lively discussions, networking and even luscious desserts are “perks” making this a most worthwhile way to spend a lunch hour. Cousins subs can be ordered for lunch. Come occasionally or come each month!

For more information, please contact Pat Wisialowski, Pastoral Associate at patwisialowski@stjohncathedral.org or 414-276-9814, ext. 302

The next discussion will be on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 12:00 noon
in the Center Meeting Room
This month’s topic:
“How to be Grateful No Matter What Happens”
with guest presenter:
Carolyn Sweers
Cathedral parishioner, freelance philosopher, and author

We tend to be selective when it comes to gratitude and limit it to the good things that happen. The Stoics, however, point out that there is gratitude potential even in the most challenging and negative seeming situations. We will reflect on and share some gratitude experiences as well as explore together why gratitude is such a central spiritual attitude and practice. Then, we will let the Stoics teach us how to strengthen our gratitude “muscles” so that we can learn to be grateful no matter what happens.

Please RSVP by 12:00 noon, Thursday, November 1, 2018 to Rachel at 414/276-9814 ext. 308, rachelegarczynski@stjohncathedral.org.

If you are interested in ordering a sandwich from Cousins Subs, please call or email for more information (price is $8.00 each).
