Director of Facilities

Scott Fischer

As the Director of Facilities at the Cathedral for the past 23 years, Scott is dedicated to the day-to-day maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the entire Cathedral block. This includes the Cathedral, the Rectory, and the Weakland Center, as well as the tenants: Tenor High School, Milwaukee Downtown, and the Cathedral Center. Scott handles all of the regular maintenance and repairs himself, including woodworking, plumbing, electrical, welding, and many other creative projects. He consults with outside contractors regarding major projects, while supervising the janitorial work and removal of snow and ice, ensuring the safety of our parishioners and guests. He is responsible for all event set up in the Cathedral for major liturgical celebrations, as well as parish events and meetings in the Weakland Center. Scott truly is a jack-of-all-trades and is able to handle his many job duties with skilled efficiency.

Scott's strong work ethic and commitment to the Cathedral is an outgrowth of his attendance at University of Wisconsin Platteville and his associate degree in criminal justice from Milwaukee Area Technical College. In addition to his tenure at the Cathedral, he also has six years experience with the Menomonee Falls School Districts Maintenance Department. He continues to develop his trade with attendance at various maintenance related seminars in the metro area. During his off time, Scott enjoys working on his home, classic cars, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
