Scott W. Eakins

Scott, born and raised in Ottumwa, IA received a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Voice Performance from the University of St. Ambrose–Davenport, IA, in 1990. He moved to Milwaukee in 1992 following two years of graduate study in Theology at the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity of the University of St. Thomas–St. Paul, MN.

Since moving to Milwaukee, Scott has been very active in the community. He is currently a member of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Musicians Association (ALMA/NPM), the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (DMMD division), Conference of Roman Catholic Cathedral Musicians, the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions and chairperson of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission (Milwaukee, WI).

He has also been a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus (1993-2003) and the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (1993-2007) serving as its Dean from 1998-2000.

Scott returned to theological study and received a Master of Arts degree in Systematic Theology from Sacred Heart School of Theology–Hales Corners, WI, in December 2010.

Scott has served parishes in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin since 1987. Scott joined the Cathedral Staff as the Associate Director of Liturgy & Music in February 2003 and currently serves as the Director of Liturgy & Communications.


Area of Responsibility: As the Director of Liturgy & Communications, coordinates the Liturgies and Liturgical Ministries (such as Altar Servers, Eucharistic Minister, Lectors and Ministers of Hospitality) of the Cathedral and the parish's Marketing and Communications efforts.
