Eat, Drink, & Be Catholic - May 1

Eat, Drink and Be Catholic offers women and men of all ages a casual opportunity to explore the Catholic faith. We hope to provide space for intellectual, relational and spiritual growth as well as some real community building. Our hope is that at the end of each evening, individuals not only know more but are inspired and empowered to live out their faith. The format ranges from speakers and group discussion to movies and music.

This year's theme is "Do This in Memory of Me." Our next session will be on Wednesday, May 1 in the Illinois Room at Mo's...A Place for Steaks (720 N Plankinton) beginning at 7:00 pm. We will continue watching Bishop Robert Barron's series "The Mass."

For more information, to RSVP, or to be added to the email list for future events, contact Chad Griesel at cgriesel@ffpmke.org.

Car Wash Fundraiser - May 4

Students from UPLIFT Teen are going on a mission trip to Kentucky in June, to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in various ministries. We will be hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Holy Rosary parking lot (2011 N Oakland Ave) for an opportunity to meet our parish missionaries and support them. Come get your car cleaned and spread the word! $20 per car is the suggested donation.

If you would like to support our high school students on their mission trip, you can donate online at www.threeholywomenparish.org/give. When you get to the payment allocation section, select “High School Mission Trip.” Please reach out to Nino Rebholz at nrebholz@ffpmke.org if you’d like more details. It costs $75 per student per day, so you can sponsor a student for a day, or any amount is helpful!

Mass of Thanksgiving for Archbishop Listecki

All are invited to the final Mass of Thanksgiving in gratitude to God for the bond between Archbishop Jerome Listecki — our shepherd for the past 14 years — and his flock, the people of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Archbishop Listecki will celebrate this special Mass at 11:00 am, Sunday, June 9, at the Mother Church of the Archdiocese, the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, as he prepares for retirement.

Stay for a reception immediately following the Mass to thank Archbishop Listecki for his leadership!

Join a Missionary Discipleship Group

The Family of Five Parishes invites any adult to join one of our Missionary Discipleship Groups. These groups are forming at our parishes so that the Lord can lead and form us in faith personally through small group conversation and spiritual accompaniment. These groups meet for about one hour per week for six weeks. The goal is to grow intentionally together as disciples of Jesus Christ. We would love to have you join! Contact Trevor Beach, Director of Evangelization, to sign up or with questions at trevorbeach@stjohncathedral.org or text ‘Disciple’ to 312-771-9508.

Scriptural and Intellectual Study Courses

One or two study courses are being organized for the summer and fall so that we might be formed by the Holy Spirit. There are two goals:

1) Discovering more deeply God’s Word in the Old and New Testaments and

2) Understanding how Scripture relates to philosophical and scientific trends as engaged Catholic evangelists.

Please pray for the Spirit’s continued action of building the Kingdom of God here in real ways for the good of our parish families, our local community, and the world in which we live.

If you are moved to become involved in any of these or other upcoming Evangelization initiatives at the Family of Five Parishes, please call or email Trevor Beach, our Director of Evangelization, at 414-238-2702 or trevorbeach@stjohncathedral.org.
